About Joe

Joe Payne is a 23-year-old man from West Sussex. He was born in Surrey but moved to a little village on the South coast with his family when he was young. 

His father ran his own business as a gardener and his mother worked as a teacher. His younger sister, Bronte, was born when he was four. 

He attended the local school and took a BTEC in cooking at sixth form but later found this was not for him.

He then joined his father in the gardening business and took a short break as a cashier at Aquatic Village, the local fish store. During his time there he developed a passion for fish keeping and now owns many marine and tropical fish. 

He met his girlfriend, Becca, in 2012 and they have since been dating for four years. They have now bought a house together in a neighbouring village and Joe has started his own gardening business. 

But just before his 22nd birthday, Joe knew something was wrong…
