Joe underwent a keyhole 3rd Ventriculostomy and the introduction of Ommaya reservoir.

This meant a hole was made in his skull which would go down into the 3rd sack of fluid in the middle of his brain. An incision was made which would allow fluid to drain if the cyst got bigger.

The Ommaya reservoir is an external catheter which allows doctors to remove fluid without surgery.

They cyst was thought to have collapsed during surgery but Joe is still awaiting results to confirm this.
